Working offline and app updates

What happens when the internet drops, and how the app stays up to date.

Updated October 22, 2026 1 min read

When your connection drops

Keep working. The app shows Internet connection lost and saves screenshots and activity on your computer. When the connection returns you see Connection restored and it uploads everything it saved.

Leave the app open until the upload finishes. Quitting is fine too: it continues the next time you open it.

Updates on Windows

Trackion for Windows comes from the Microsoft Store, which installs updates automatically. If you installed it from a downloaded installer before (version 1.0.4 or earlier), install Trackion from the Microsoft Store to keep getting updates.

Updates on macOS

The app checks for updates shortly after it opens and every few hours, and downloads them in the background. When an update is ready you can choose Restart Now, or Later to install it the next time you quit.

Which version am I on?

Your app version is shown on the Workstations page in your workspace.
