Track time with the desktop app

Pick a project, start and stop the timer, and switch projects.

Start tracking

  1. Open the app. It remembers the last project you used.
  2. Pick a project from the list, or search for it.
  3. Select Start.

The app keeps running from the system tray or menu bar while you work.

Switch projects

The project is fixed for the whole session. To move to another project, select Stop, pick the new project and select Start again. Each project then gets its own session in the reports.

Stop tracking

Select Stop at the end of your work or before a long break. Nothing is recorded while the timer is stopped.

Sessions that end on their own

If there are no clicks or keystrokes for a while, Trackion ends the session and the app shows Tracking stopped due to inactivity. Your organization chooses how long that is (Auto End Session After).

Signing out

Stop tracking before you sign out. The app will not sign out while the timer runs.
