Bill clients with project hours

Turn tracked time into accurate client invoices.

Updated October 22, 2026 1 min read

Set up

  • Create one project per client or per contract.
  • Assign only the people who work for that client.
  • Ask people to stop and start the timer when they switch clients, so each session belongs to one project.

At the end of the month

  1. Open Project Tracking and choose the monthly period.
  2. Filter by the project.
  3. Select the download button. The Excel file has total and productive hours per project, contributions per person and a daily breakdown.

Tips

  • Decide with your client whether you bill logged hours or productive hours, and stay consistent.
  • Archive the project when the contract ends to keep the desktop app list short.
