Suspend, delete and restore employees

Pause access, remove someone who has left, or bring them back.

Updated October 22, 2026 1 min read

Suspend

Use Suspend from the menu on an employee’s page when someone is on leave or between contracts. They cannot sign in, any running session is closed, and their history stays exactly as it is. Select Activate to let them back in.

Delete

Use Delete when someone has left. They lose access straight away and are removed from all their groups. Their data is kept for a limited time in case you change your mind.

Restore

Org Admins open Deleted Employees to see everyone who was deleted, when, and the Days Until Purge. Select Restore to bring someone back with their history. Add them to their groups again afterwards; group memberships are not restored.

Permanent removal

When the countdown reaches zero, the employee and all their data are deleted for good. There is no way to undo this.

Good to know

  • You cannot suspend or delete yourself.
  • Suspended employees do not use a seat, so suspending is also how you free a seat.
